The Parish Council looks after some direct services in the
village all street lighting, the bus shelter, South Green Recreation
Field and the Children's Play Area, litter bins and so on and liaises
with other authorities on behalf of residents. The Parish Council is also
consulted about all planning applications within the parish (though its role is
advisory only). The Parish Council raises the money it needs by a precept on the
District Council which in turn is charged to residents as part of the Council
Tax.
The Parish Council meets monthly (on the second Tuesday) at 7.30 pm in
the Village Hall. All meetings are open to the public. If you have a problem or
a point of view that you would like the Council to consider, please come to one
of the Council meetings (time is set aside in every meeting for questions and
comments from residents) or contact the Clerk to the Council. The Council has a
short leaflet explaining how its meetings are conducted and when you are
entitled to speak; the Clerk will be pleased to give you a copy.
The most recently available minutes from a parish council meeting are now online, as are those from the Annual Parish Meeting held in April 2000..
