Administration: Mayor and 4 Councillors.
Administration Centre: Otterville.
There are 4 towns in the Township:
Norwich, Burgesville and Otterville (originally called South and North Norwich), and Springford.
Township History The Township is rich with history, taking shape in the year 1799 with portions being settled by United Empire Loyalists and Quakers. By 1807, a mill was operating in what is now known as Otterville.
In 1864, Canada's first commercial cheese factory went into operation. Mr. George Wilcox, known as the 'Father' of free rural mail delivery resided within the Township near the hamlet of Springford. Many items of historical significance reside at the Historical Museum located in the village of Norwich.
