Preparation on the ground for the 10th Show at RAF Watton commenced on the Friday before the Monday Show.
Invaluable help was given by two young men from the local Wayland Prison and the Watton Scouts who camped for 2 nights and manned the gate while the site was transformed from empty runways and acres of grass.

On Sunday, the day before The Show, the normally deserted airfield begins to spring into life,as it has done for the 10 years that the Rotary Club of Watton and District have used it as a venue for the Breckland Family Show.

Sunday at the Showground

The first show traffic on May Day arrives at 4.30 am and by 4.30 pm over 10 000 visitors will have come and gone and the site will be restored to the rabbits and Stone Curlew with little evidence of our presence.

An outdoor event catering for 10 000 members of the public needs a lot of conveniences!

Apart from those hired, two Watton and District Rotarians have made their own Gents facilities.
