Aegean Evening 2 May - Cambridge
2 May 2000

Edward Thackray, President, Rotary Club of Cambridge, hosted a dinner at Chilford Hall, Cambridge, in the presence of HRH Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine of Yugoslavia, to support the work of getting caravans to help the victims of the earthquakes in Greece and Turkey.

Rotarian Victor Bugg and Honorary Rotarian Sam Alper were honoured for their work with the caravan project by the presentation of Paul Harris Fellowships by Crown Princess Katherine.

Rotarian Paul Weatherill of The Rotary Club of Wattton and District, a club of 29 members, was praised for his efforts in getting 12 caravans to Southampton. (Not bad for a club of 29 "Geriatric Hooligans" as PDG John King described them!) Click here to see the article.
